Dana Delan: Say NO to Botox Injection Again!

Many celebrities in Hollywood actually want to fight against aging. They can do everything to keep their youthful appearance, even though these stars have to get needle injected on their face including botox. “Desperate Housewives” star Dana Delany also experienced botox. Although she seemed to be younger but it didn’t meet her expectation when her eyes appeared droopy and her face did not look symmetric anymore after plastic surgery.

In 2010, Delany opened up to Prevention magazine about her unpleasant experience with botox injection:

“Something nobody ever talks about is doctor error. Seven years ago, I had never even heard about Botox. My dermatologist was saying, ‘You should try it.’ He injected my forehead, hit a nerve, and created a huge hematoma.”

She added: “The nerve has been dead ever since. It affected the muscle in my right eye, so my eye has started to droop a little bit. Now that I said this to you, everybody will look for it! I notice it more than anybody else, but I was symmetrical before and now I am not.”

After the damage her face suffered after plastic surgery, Delany decided that she would never have any more plastic surgery procedures. She had enough bad Botox experience!

Dr. Paul S. Nassif said that her eyelid appeared a bit droopy because her face, especially around her forehead, was injected too much Botox. Botox used intensively will affect the muscle’s function. If the needle hit a nerve consequently, eye will slightly droop.

According to Dr. Michael Salzhauer, it rarely happens droopy eyelid appearance after facial filler but when it is overdone, nothing is impossible. The doctor also said that droopy eyes would last temporarily if the patients got regular treatments with a professional plastic surgeon. However, in case the patients did not have any regular treatments, it would affect more complicatedly.

The bad result of botox injection made Delany never want to get any form of plastic surgery. She would like to be the really great actresses like Diane Keaton and Meryl Streep, who have decided to age naturally:

“I won’t do it, no. My hat’s off to Jamie Lee Curtis. She’s so smart, and she doesn’t dye her hair or anything. And Meryl Streep still looks like herself. Diane Keaton, too. I think the really great actresses don’t worry about that kind of thing.”

We can take some lessons from Dana’s experience that it doesn’t always guarantee best result for our beauty enhancements by plastic surgery procedures; they possibly make our look worse and weird.
